Rockefeller, Jr. first opened the Observation Deck atop Rockefeller
Center in 1933. He modeled it after the decks of the great ocean liners
of the era, complete with deck chairs, gooseneck fixtures, and vents
inspired by a ship’s stacks.
For the first time in 20 years, this breathtaking vantage point is being reintroduced to the public. The newly opened observation deck—located on the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors of Rockefeller Center—offers visitors an experience in both history and scenery. Panels of fully transparent, non-reflective safety glass allow completely unobstructed, open-air views. |
